Sidekick, the AI in Aventide
Short answer
Sidekick is your helper in Aventide. Ask it in plain words, in the app or from your phone, and Aventide does the work: it drafts a reply, a proposal, a contract, an invoice, a payment reminder or a social post, tells you who owes you money, or logs a receipt. It works from the saved details of the business you’re in: your facts, offers, Brand Kit and clients. Aventide’s AI runs on Anthropic’s Claude models, and your data doesn’t train AI models. If you want AI that sends to clients without asking, Aventide isn’t built for that.
It works from the business you’re in
Sidekick reads the saved details of the business you’re in: your business facts, your offers and prices, your Brand Kit and your clients, plus your to-dos and documents. It also sees what happened recently, such as an invoice paid or a contract signed. It uses your sign-in and passes the same checks you do, so it only reaches the business you’re working in. It remembers how you like to work, such as how long you want its replies, and lists that on the Memory tab of your Business Hub, where you can change or forget it. It asks before saving a new fact about your business.
Aventide drafts, then waits for your OK
Ask Sidekick for a reply, a proposal, a contract, an invoice, a payment reminder or a social post, and Aventide drafts it. Sidekick asks for your OK before Aventide sends an email or invoice, publishes or schedules a post, shares a document, or books or cancels a meeting, and you can ask for changes first. Contracts have one more gate: before a client can sign one, you or a teammate countersign it in the app. Leila K., Owner and Principal Consultant at Leila Consulting, wrote in her G2 review in October 2026: “I’m not great at some things and while AI isn’t perfect, it gives me a huge leg up having prompts refined for processes I’m still learning how to do.”
It works where you are
In the app, use the Sidekick panel for a quick ask, or Think, in the Chat workstation, for longer conversations kept as separate threads. On your phone, message Sidekick in Telegram, WhatsApp or Slack, or send it a voice note. Ask for a document and it sends the PDF in the chat, or a link that opens on your phone. On Telegram, send a photo of a receipt and it’s logged as an expense, with the photo attached. Your Daily Brief can arrive in the same chat each morning. Mostly I take it with me: from my phone I ask what’s owed on an invoice or what’s next, and the answer comes from my own business.
It treats outside content as information
Content from outside, like an incoming email, an inquiry form or a website it imports, is labelled as information to read, not instructions to follow. That makes it much harder to slip the AI hidden commands. No AI is immune to that kind of trick, which is one more reason the approval step exists: a reply Aventide writes to that email still comes to you before it goes out.
Your data doesn’t train AI models
Aventide’s AI runs on Claude, made by Anthropic; our requests usually go through Vercel’s AI Gateway, which may send them to the same Claude models hosted by Amazon Bedrock or Google Vertex AI. Data sent through those commercial services isn’t used to train their models, and we never train a model on yours. Two more things to know. Your chat history is kept, so a thread can be picked up later. And the Vault is a wall: lock your EIN there and Aventide’s AI cannot read it.
Ask in plain words
Open the Sidekick panel in the app, or Think in the Chat workstation, and say what you need the way you’d brief a person: “Here are my notes from today’s call with Riverbend Cafe. Turn them into a proposal.” In Think you can also click the microphone and talk.
Check the draft, then approve
For a client document, Sidekick asks which template you want and, for a proposal or scope of work, how to price it: from an offer, a custom price, or decide later. Then it reads back an outline and asks: “Does this look right? In this order?” Ask for changes in plain words, like another order or one more item. When it’s right, say so. The approval card shows the price and the outline; click Approve and Aventide writes the document.
Connect your phone
In the Sidekick panel, find the Take me with you card, or click the small round button at the top. Pick Telegram, WhatsApp or Slack. For Telegram or WhatsApp, scan the QR code with your phone, then tap Start in Telegram or hit send in WhatsApp. For Slack, click Add to Slack, pick your workspace and click Allow. The code works for 60 minutes. Each teammate connects their own.
Keep going from your phone
Message Sidekick the way you’d text someone, or send a voice note. When it asks before doing something, reply yes or no. Ask for a document, such as a proposal, and the PDF arrives in the chat. On Telegram, send a receipt photo and Aventide logs the expense. In Slack it answers only in its own direct messages, so your business stays out of shared channels.
Sidekick is on both plans, like every feature: Starter is $39 a month and Pro is $99 a month, each with unlimited businesses and unlimited team members. Doing things yourself never uses credits. Only the AI’s work does. Each message to Sidekick uses AI credits, and the Usage page shows what your messages used; a receipt photo sent on its own on Telegram is 10 credits, and questions in How do I? are free. Starter includes 40,000 credits a month and Pro 120,000, and 1 credit is $0.001 of AI cost. Credit packs start at $10 for 10,000 credits and never expire.
What does Sidekick do?
Sidekick takes your requests for the next step in your client work, such as a reply, a proposal, a contract, an invoice, a payment reminder or a social post, and Aventide drafts it from the saved details of the business you're in. Sidekick also answers questions such as who owes you money, and a receipt photo you send it is logged as an expense. Anything Aventide drafts for a client waits for your approval; automations you switch on run on their own. Use it in the app or by message on Telegram, WhatsApp or Slack.
Does Sidekick let anything go out without me?
Anything Aventide drafts for a client waits for your approval; automations you switch on run on their own. Sidekick asks for your OK before Aventide sends an email or invoice, publishes or schedules a post, shares a document, or books or cancels a meeting. Automations you set up, such as booking reminders or your morning Daily Brief, run on their own schedule.
Which AI model does it use?
Aventide’s AI, Sidekick included, runs on Anthropic’s Claude models, usually reached through Vercel’s AI Gateway, which may also use the same Claude models hosted by Amazon Bedrock or Google Vertex AI. Different Claude models handle different jobs, such as reading a receipt photo or writing a proposal. For our estimate of the electricity and water it uses, read The energy behind Aventide’s AI.
Does my data train the AI?
No. Anthropic, and the services that host its models for us, don't train their models on data sent through their commercial services, and we don't train AI models on your data either. Your chats are saved so you can come back to them. Anything you lock in the Vault, like your EIN, is kept out of Aventide's AI.
Can it work for two businesses?
Yes. Sidekick works in the business you're in, and each business keeps its own facts, offers, clients and memory. Switch from the business menu, or tell Sidekick "switch to Fern & Field Consulting". On your phone, the chat keeps its own business, so switching there doesn't change the app on your computer. Both plans include unlimited businesses.
Where can I talk to it?
On a computer, in the Sidekick panel or in Think, in the app's Chat workstation. On your phone, in Telegram, WhatsApp or Slack, where it answers in a private chat. Aventide's app is built for a computer, so on a phone you use Sidekick through those chat apps. Each teammate connects their own, and each link is theirs alone.
Is Sidekick an app?
No. There's no separate Sidekick app to install. Sidekick is part of Aventide, which runs in your web browser on a computer. On your phone, you message it in Telegram, WhatsApp or Slack. Aventide has no phone app of its own, and Sidekick doesn't send text messages (SMS).
Is Sidekick free?
Sidekick is part of Aventide, with no separate price. The 14-day free trial includes 4,000 AI credits and needs no card. After that, Starter is $39 a month with 40,000 AI credits and Pro is $99 a month with 120,000, and each message to Sidekick uses credits. Questions in How do I? are free.
Who makes Sidekick?
Sidekick is made by Second Spring Design Inc. in Spokane, Washington, the company behind Aventide, founded in 2025 by Christian Quiver and Eric Baxter. Like the rest of Aventide’s AI, it runs on Anthropic’s Claude models, your data doesn’t train AI models, and anything Aventide drafts for a client waits for your approval. The dated facts about Aventide are on our AI information page. Writers and reviewers can find screenshots and the demo in our press kit.
Can I ask Sidekick how Aventide works?
Yes. Open Sidekick and choose How do I? to ask where something is or how to do it. It answers from Aventide's help articles, step by step, and it doesn't use AI credits. In a normal chat with Sidekick or in Think, app questions are answered from the same articles, and the message uses credits as usual.
Is Sidekick related to Eventide or an audio plugin?
No. Sidekick is the helper in Aventide, client software for people who sell sessions or projects, made by Second Spring Design. It isn't related to Eventide, the audio company, or to any audio plugin named SideKick. It helps with your client business: bookings, proposals, contracts, invoices and replies.
What should I check before I approve a draft?
The client, the scope, the price, the dates and any promise the draft makes. Aventide drafts from what is saved about the business, so a missing or old detail shows up as a wrong name, number or date; read it the way you would read a draft from a new teammate before it goes out.
Sidekick is the helper inside Aventide’s client software, for updates, questions and approvals. It is not related to Eventide or any audio plugin. The plugins called SideKick are made by other companies. If you searched for “Sidekick AI” and meant a meeting scheduler or a shop assistant, that is a different product too.
