This Cookie Policy explains how Aventide, operated by Second Spring Design Inc. (“we”, “us” or “our”), uses cookies and similar technology on our website (aventide.ai), in the Aventide app (app.aventide.ai) and on the pages your clients use, such as client portals and signing, booking, payment and form pages.
Read it alongside our Privacy Policy (Section 10 covers cookies) and our Terms of Service. Questions? Email support@aventide.ai.
The short version
We use a small number of cookies and similar browser storage.
Most of them keep you signed in, keep Aventide secure and remember your settings.
On our website, Google Analytics and Framer’s cookie-free visit counts tell us how people use the site, and two cookies remember how you found us.
We don’t use advertising cookies, and we don’t track you across other companies’ sites.
We don’t sell or share personal information.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, tablet or phone) when you visit. They help the site remember things about your visit, like whether you’re signed in.
Cookies aren’t programs. They can’t run code, carry viruses or open other files on your device.
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
Persistent cookies stay for a set time, or until you delete them.
Some cookies are set by us (first-party cookies). Others are set by services we use to run Aventide.
Similar technology. Some things work like cookies without being cookies. Your browser’s local storage keeps settings on your device. Services that load from another company’s servers, such as a bot check or a web font, see your IP address. This policy covers those too.
What we use
Sign-in and security (always on)
These keep you signed in and protect Aventide from bots and abuse. Aventide can’t work without them, so they can’t be turned off in the cookie banner.
Your sign-in token. Outseta, our sign-in provider, keeps your sign-in token in your browser’s storage.
Bot checks. Cloudflare Turnstile checks you’re human on sign-in, sign-up, booking, inquiry and form pages. More about it below.
Sign in with Google. Our sign-in and sign-up pages load Google’s sign-in button, so Google sees your IP address when the page opens, even if you don’t use the button. If you’re signed in to Google, Google may also read its own cookies.
Payments. Pages that can take a payment load Stripe’s payment script: public booking pages, checkout when you choose a plan, and parts of Money. Stripe sets its own cookies (such as
__stripe_midand__stripe_sid) and collects device signals to prevent fraud. “Pay now” on an invoice opens Stripe’s or QuickBooks’ own page, which follows their cookie policies.Setup protection. Short-lived cookies protect some setup steps, such as connecting Stripe. That one (
av_stripe_app_install_nonce) lasts up to 30 minutes.
Preferences (always on)
A cookie (
chatkit-color-scheme) remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. It lasts a year.Other app settings are saved in your browser’s local storage.
Your browser’s storage also keeps a few things so you don’t lose them: unsent drafts (such as a Think message, or your onboarding answers for up to 7 days), the email address you signed up with (so the “resend” button can wait between sends), and, for a moment while you sign in, your sign-in token.
Client portals
Each client portal has its own sign-in cookie (
av_portal_session_…), which lasts up to 90 days, so a client doesn’t have to sign in on every visit. It’s sent only to that portal’s pages. When a business previews its own portal, a preview cookie (
av_portal_preview_…) lasts 10 minutes.
Analytics on our website
Google Analytics (
_gaand_ga_*cookies, which last up to 2 years) counts visits, the pages people view and clicks to sign up. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, it runs only after you accept. Elsewhere, it’s on until you choose “Necessary Only”. Google’s advertising features are turned off.Framer, which hosts our website, counts visits without cookies.
Sign-up steps. Our sign-up page (app.aventide.ai/signup) records a couple of steps, such as starting sign-up and confirming your email, against a random ID kept in your browser. When you start setting up, that ID links those steps to your new account.
How you found us
Two first-party cookies, av_attr and av_attr_last, last 90 days. av_attr keeps your first visit and av_attr_last your most recent one.
They record a general category for where you came from (for example “linkedin” or “newsletter”), the campaign name if the link you followed had one, and whether you landed on our home page, pricing page or another page.
They never hold full web addresses.
When you sign up, we save that information with your account. It isn’t shared with anyone.
They’re set when you visit, before you make a choice in the banner, and choosing “Necessary Only” doesn’t remove them. You can delete them in your browser at any time.
Fonts
Our website, and Stripe’s checkout and Money screens inside the app, load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address.
Videos
Our home page has a product video hosted on YouTube, which Google owns. Until you press play, the page shows only a still image, which loads from Google’s servers, so Google sees your IP address. When you press play, the player loads in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube may store cookies or similar data in your browser, under Google’s privacy policy.
Advertising
We don’t use advertising or retargeting cookies, and we don’t track you across other companies’ sites. We don’t let advertisers access your data through Aventide.
Cloudflare Turnstile
Turnstile is Cloudflare’s bot check. It confirms you’re human without a picture puzzle. It runs when you sign up, sign in, reset your password or ask for a sign-in link, and when someone confirms or looks up a booking, sends an inquiry or submits a form.
In those moments, Cloudflare may process:
your IP address;
your browser type, version and user agent;
device and network signals that help tell people from bots.
Cloudflare provides this check to protect Aventide from bots and abuse, not for advertising. Cloudflare’s privacy policy explains how it handles this data.
