FOR PRACTITIONERS
Booking for tarot readers, mediums, astrologers and doulas
Aventide gives tarot and intuitive readers, psychic mediums, astrologers and doulas a booking page and a client portal for each business they run. A client pays for the session, or a deposit on it, as they book, into your own Stripe account, and the notes or recording you share afterward wait in their portal. Aventide's AI drafts the admin for your approval; the session is yours.
IN YOUR WORDS
What credit card processor do you work with?
"All of this sounds pretty vague and based entirely on how square wants to interpret what one sells."
A Square seller asking on behalf of a friend who reads tarot, on the Square Seller Community, January 3, 2025.
"They are cracking down on 'psychic services' again just FYI."
@thehoodwitch on Threads, January 21, 2026. In a reply the next day, the same account wrote: "After 10 years @square flagged my account and said it was 'high risk' and would not explain why…"
"It takes away the pressure of worrying about getting paid."
Cassandra Truax, on her Substack, about readings paid for in advance, March 16, 2025.
All three are about the money around a reading, not the reading: whose rules it moves under, and whether it arrives. With Aventide the client pays when they book, into your own Stripe account; whether Stripe takes on your business is Stripe's call, and the answer below says what we know.
STEP ONE
Paid when they book, on terms they read first
Each kind of session gets its own booking page, price and length: a 30-minute tarot reading, a natal chart consultation, a mediumship sitting by phone. Clients pay in full or a deposit by card when they book, through your own Stripe account, and Aventide adds no fee of its own. Before they pay, the page states your refund rule, so a client who misses the session has already paid on terms they read. Aventide doesn't charge a saved card for a no-show; paying up front is how it handles them.
STEP TWO
Their questions, your link, their reminders
Ask your questions on a form when the client books: their birth date, time and place for a chart, what they hope to ask, or a tick box agreeing to the session being recorded, since some US states require everyone on a call to agree to a recording. Each booking gets its own Zoom or Google Meet link, or your address for an in-person session. Clients get email reminders, by default 24 hours and one hour before, and can reschedule or cancel from their confirmation email up to the notice period you set.
STEP THREE
After the session, it waits in their portal
Add the recording or your notes to the client's room and turn on Show in client portal. The client signs in to a portal in your logo and colors to open or download it, instead of searching their email for a link that has run out. Aventide doesn't record calls itself. The thank-you note and the rest of the admin around the session are drafts Aventide writes; the session is yours. Anything Aventide drafts for a client waits for your approval; automations you switch on run on their own.
FOR DOULAS
Consult, contract, retainer, balance
A family books a free consult from your booking page. When they choose you, send your contract for e-signature: you sign first, they sign on a page in your branding, and Aventide drafts the deposit invoice for your retainer and waits for your approval. Send the balance invoice with the due date your contract sets, such as 36 weeks, and Aventide drafts a reminder for your approval if it runs late. Aventide does not bill insurance or Medicaid, and it isn't HIPAA compliant.
Readings, chart consultations and doula consults are sessions, so this page sits under Aventide for people who sell sessions. The booking page with payment takes the fee when a client books, and a doula’s retainer agreement goes out as a contract with e-signature: you sign first, then the family signs on a page in your branding. Whether a card processor will take your business is its own question, answered in Will Stripe accept a psychic or tarot business?
QUESTIONS
Is Aventide a good fit for your practice?
Is Aventide a good fit for a psychic medium?
Yes, for the business around your readings. Clients book, pay in full or a deposit through your Stripe account, answer intake questions and get a Zoom or Google Meet link. Notes or files you share afterward wait in their client portal. Anything Aventide drafts for a client waits for your approval; automations you switch on run on their own.
Is Aventide a good fit for an astrologer?
Yes. Ask for the birth date, time and place as intake questions when the client books, take payment in full or a deposit through your own Stripe account, and meet by Zoom, Google Meet, phone or in person. The chart file or notes you share wait in the client's portal, where they sign in to open or download them.
Is Aventide a good fit for a doula?
Yes, if you don't bill insurance or Medicaid. Families book a consult, sign your contract online and pay your retainer by deposit invoice, then the balance. Each family has a client portal. Anything Aventide drafts for a client waits for your approval; automations you switch on run on their own. Aventide isn't HIPAA compliant and doesn't track postpartum hours.
Will Stripe accept a psychic or tarot business?
Stripe decides, not Aventide. As of October 12, 2026, Stripe's restricted businesses page lists "Psychic services and fortune tellers" as prohibited only in Japan, Mexico and Thailand, and doesn't name astrology, tarot or mediums. Stripe says the list isn't exhaustive and reviews businesses itself, so nobody can promise approval. Aventide adds no fee to your payments.
Does Acuity Scheduling have a client portal?
Not for files you share. Acuity's client accounts show appointments, package codes and saved cards, and its emails can't carry attachments (Acuity help center, October 10, 2026). Its Standard plan, $34 a month billed monthly, adds packages and text reminders where available (checked October 18, 2026). Its plans don't list contracts with e-signature. Aventide books sessions too, then keeps your files, invoices and contracts in a client portal in your branding, and takes 0% of client payments.
