What if a client asks for a cheaper version of my proposal?

Reduce the scope, not the rate. Name what comes out, such as a design direction or a revision round, and reprice it in writing. A discount at the same scope teaches the client that your first number was negotiable. And send one price for one problem: three price tiers hand the decision back and usually bring a delay.
To reprice a smaller scope as a branded PDF, use the free proposal generator.
